Congratulations to Fridley Public Schools October 2019 Employee of the Month, Barb Rohan! Barb is a special education paraprofessional at Fridley High School.
Barb began serving Fridley Public Schools in 1997 as a paraprofessional at the Fridley Community Center, and moved into the Fridley Transition program in 2005. In 2008, Barb began working in the special education department at Fridley High School.
“Barb has worked tirelessly for our special education students,” said FHS Principal Patty Hand. “She is hardworking, committed, and a strong advocate for all students.”
According to her colleagues, she is a great resource for the students she assists, and uses her terrific sense of humor yet clear expectations to push students to become more confident in their own skills. Another colleague noted, “She is funny, caring and extremely kind to all staff and students she works with. She knows how to relate to students whom she works with very well.”
FHS Assistant Principal Kelly McConville said Barb strives to help all students achieve at high levels.
“She is incredibly talented and is always straightforward, in a way that students appreciate and understand,” said McConville.
Barb will retire at the end of October 2019, after serving the district for 22 years.
Congratulations, Barb, on earning the honor of Employee of the Month, and we thank you for your service!
